baby 'K'

baby k was already 3 weeks when i got to meet him. he was so calm, yet so alert! and his eyes were so bright and clear. mmmm....he melted my heart!

it never ceases to amaze me how little boys can look 100% boy even as a tiny newborn. maybe i just have a soft spot for the little guys. :)

K's features are so so sweet (see the close up of his face) and so refined. we were all smiling at the little "O" his mouth makes when he watched the ceiling fan. (in case some of you haven't discovered it yet, ceiling fans can be a great source of peace and entertainment for kids even as old as a year!!!)

and the soft green blanket that he's wrapped in above is one of my very favorite colors! usually i photograph newborns in neutrals so as not to overpower the picture, but i had to make an exception with the green! "they say" that green is a calming color....

(i've always wondered who "they" is. :)

happy birth day, baby K!

ten days

baby t will always stand out in my mind for so many reasons. first, he slept through the ENTIRE session...hardly stirring when moved or relocated. that after his daddy announced that he'd been sleeping all morning and would surely be awake. um...no. (still, i did get some pictures of 't's gorgeous open eyes!)

second, he didn't tinkle one bit during our little diaperless times. amazing! trained already even at just 10 days old!

and finally, when he smiles, even his eyes smile...even while sleeping!

everyone is crazy about baby 't'...me of course, mom and dad, grandparents....especially uncle shorty. it's obvious that good times are in store for this little guy!

miss "b"

even before i met miss 'b' i knew i was going to love her! for her senior portraits she wanted to go mill about the town of cayucos. so cool! well, we met up last wednesday and had PLENTY of time to roam the streets and alley ways before the sun finally decided to retire. mom and dad were ultra cool and let us just do our thing. i knew that miss 'b' was feeling relaxed when she burst out laughing as i was mid air...falling off the backside of my chair. :) did i mention that we had some fun?

i think the thing that i love most about miss 'b' is that she is real. not at all pretentious. super sweet. and knows who she is. i'm pretty sure that when you add up all those qualities it equals great character.

congratulations on being a senior, b!

back on track...

...with "the porcelain doll". (that is her rightful name.)

last week, when we left off, miss N's session fogged over and it was too dark to shoot inside her cozy home. eventually, fun was had, laughs were laughed and all things came together. i, not so secretly, enjoyed spending time with this little pumpkin and her parents so much that i didn't mind splitting the session up. i couldn't get enough of those clear blue eyes and infectious smiles!

not only was this little porcelain doll a trooper, she was so entertaining! she even became mobile before my our eyes! i think miss N even surprised herself when she realized that she could scoot herself backwards with her feet in the sitting position. that's no small milestone!

thanks so much for all the fun,

lisa

no bueno

it's sounds so sweet and so funny when my little guy says "no bueno". (he may have a small speech impediment. the verdict is out on that...) gum that's stuck to his shirt is no bueno, a boo boo on the ankle...also no bueno. and it's REALLY no bueno when he doesn't get something that he wants. that's when mr. no bueno finds a corner to dramatically sulk in.

anyways, it was really no bueno when, in the thick of sessions last week, my DVD burner went out. grrrr. thank goodness for the Mac Superstore, and especially for Josh Oakes who solved the issue this afternoon. computer gurus really have alot to put up with...panicked people who haven't a clue how things work inside the box, er, i mean 'tower'. thanks to josh, now things are SUPER bueno!

i can't wait to post a bit from the sessions this past week. so many darling little ones and even some more grown up! as soon as everything is backed up and archived i'll start posting again!

fog fog go away...

everything was off to a great start this afternoon. little miss blue eyes, aka "the porcelain doll", was absolutely delightful. she already knows how to work the camera! anyways, it seemed like we had just really started with pictures when.....the fog came rolling in.

we'll pick up where we left off in a few days, but for now, here's just one miss "N".

what a way to wake up: "i'm an ogre...blech!"

shrek

it was a tortured night sleep. the kind where you finally drift off in the wee small hours of the morning. ah! bliss. two minute later...or so it seemed, i heard heavy breathing at my bedside. was it a monster? a small child? no, it was shrek shouting: i'm an ogre! (burp).

and that's how my day started....

sweet baby "L"
angelic in every way...

all i can say is...wow! from the moment i saw baby "L" i was captivated. first, she has incredible, jet black hair. i mean, it's amazing! it looks like black downy feathers fluffy around her angelic little head. then, she has the most amazing long black eyelashes. for those who aren't around newborns much--babies often are born with the tiniest eyelashes and brows...they grown in over time. but little "L" was blessed with some seriously gorgeous lashes at birth...gracing her sweet and serene little face.

what is more, this little bundle slept through EVERYTHING! she tried to lift heavy eyes to say hello, but was such a doll and let her mommy and me have such a lovely visit while taking a million pictures! :)

in case i haven't mentioned it lately, i really am honored by my clients who let me into their lives and trust me to capture their children. i feel so blessed to get to meet such amazing people! thank you thank you thank you!

the peaceful "C"

technically little "C" was not scheduled to arrive until mid July. perhaps he was just anxious to meet his beautiful sister. maybe he wanted to see how super tall his daddy really is. or quite possibly he was just craving some mommy-milk. anyways, he joined the "C" family (yes his initials will be CC. double C for double cool) four weeks early--healthy, perfect and so peaceful. his sweet expressions and little squeaks are absolutely mezmerizing. he truly is little royalty!

little boy blue

check out the amazing baby blues on this little guy! little man "L" could win a contest for the most amazing, clear-as-water blue eyes. seriously, i've seen eyes that could be described as "intense" or "deep", but the only way i can describe these eye are HAPPY BRILLIANT BLUE! from the moment we first met, mr. "L" was smiling. laughing. bouncing. what a love! i heart boys!
